Four Legged Family Portraits
Pets are the glue in our family. They're the ones waiting at the door, keeping your spot warm, and sitting beside you on the hard days without saying a word. They're pure love in fur form. They deserve a portrait that doesn’t just look like them but feels like them, too.
Every pet has a personality profile
A good portrait catches more than coat color and markings. It catches who they are when nobody's watching (and when everybody is).
Some of the personalities that I love painting:
• The Greeter. Loves everyone. Has met no strangers.
• The Supervisor. Never helps. Always watching.
• The Diva. Naps like royalty. Bills like it too.
• The Escape Artist. Was told no. Heard "maybe."
Whoever is ruling your house, that's the animal I want to paint: the quirks, the side-eye, the way they own the couch. That's the heart of every portrait.
Thank you, friends
I get to do this because of you. My friends were my first commissions, my loudest cheerleaders, and my most enthusiastic (and least objective) critics. You sent photos of your dogs mid-zoomie and trusted me with your cats' best angles. You hung the results where guests could see them and told everyone who asked. Your support is why this is a studio and not just a hobby, and it means more than I can say.
From Home to the Mailbox and the Office
The same idea behind the portraits has made its way onto paper. I'm launching postcards and notebooks featuring my animal collections.
Each piece pairs original art with a deadpan personality profile:
• Never Forgets, the elephant. Has seen things. Will bring it up at dinner.
• Just Keep Swimming, the fish. Googles optional. Visibility 20/20.
• Betty, the ostrich. Overdressed. Unbothered.
They're for the note you actually mail, the notebook you actually fill, or the friend who needs a reminder that they're doing just fine. Meet Betty, the hardcover lined notebook, and browse the rest of the collection at moxystudios.com.
Want your pet in the lineup?
Commissions couldn't be simpler. DM me, or drop your details in the contact section of my site, and I'll reach out. Tell me about your animal, and I'll take it from there.
Thank you for being part of this. Every one of these animals, yours included, has been a joy to paint.
